Eight Years contributing with the bilingual education of your kids.
|
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.¨ Ecclesiastes 9:10
In 1998 the desire to open a Christian bilingual school aroused in our hearts and the stregth to accomplish it came
from God receiving in the month of October that same year the Grant that authorizes SHADAI SCHOOL to start
working the school year of 1999.
There are people we must mention because they helped us fulfill this dream: Among them are Charles and
Sue Jones and the members of the Conway Baptist Church in Arkansas, United States.
The name of the school comes from the Hebrew word Shadai which means “God Almighty” The founders
wanted to use this word to proclaim that God is Sufficient to start any good task.
With our faith on Verse 7 chapter seven of the book of Job which reads "Even if your beginning was small
your final state will be great" We began classes in February 1999 in a house located in Prados
Universitarios neighborhood, We started with 72 students distributed in Pre-School (Nursery, Pre-K, and
kinder), Elementary up to fourth grade. That first year our staff was only four teachers.
“And we know that for those who love the Lord all things turn good for them" In the year 2000 we saw the
registration double so we rented a second building. Due to the number of parents who wanted their kids to
study in our school and asking for God's approval first, in February, 2000, we acquired a tract of land and
began building our school so that we could offer our students more space and comfort.
“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn , shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
Proverbs 4.18
In 2002 the registration , the number of teachers and the work doubled, but so did the Blessings, so we
moved to our own building.
With plenty of joy and happiness in November 2002 we celebrated the first sixth grade graduation.
As God granted Jabez when he asked for his blessing to extend his territory, our school was also blessed
with the opening of an annex in another neighborhood in Tegucigalpa starting with 576 students and 35
teachers on our staff.
In the year 2004 we started with the High school (7th Grade) offering our students French as a third
language which by the end of 11th grade they will be able to use fluently.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord , not for Men, since you know you
will receive an inheritance from the Lord.” Colossians 3. 23-24
This inheritance we can enjoy when we see our students learning to read and write, multiplying,
communicating in English , learning the names of the different states, participating in the independence
celebration , Soccer championships, camps and other activities, but especially by sharing with "Our Kids"
the love of God our Lord.
